Not only are there seven GVEA scholarships up for grabs, but there’s another scholarship opportunity available through the Alaska Power Assn.
GVEA’s Scholarships: To be eligible for a GVEA scholarship, the applicant (or a member of the applicant’s immediate family) must be a member of GVEA. The following scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and continuing education students:
- $15,000 Academic Degree Scholarship – 1 scholarship to be awarded
- $2,500 Adademic Scholarship – 3 scholarships to be awarded
- $2,000 Continuing Education Scholarship – 3 scholarships to be awarded

Alaska Power Association’s Hank Nikkels Scholarship for Engineers: APA is offering $1,000 scholarship opportunities and textbook stipends of up to $500 for Alaska residents attending college in Alaska who are studying engineering.
