Check out these two exciting opportunities for high school and college students:

1. Scholarship Opportunity (College Students)

Alaska Power Association (APA) has announced two $1,000 scholarship opportunities for Alaska residents who are studying electrical engineering or power generation. The APA membership established the scholarships in Hank Nikkel’s memory to help ensure future electric utility leaders have an opportunity to further their education in the electric power industry.

Who’s eligible? Alaska residents attending college in Alaska full-time or part-time working toward obtaining a doctoral, master’s or bachelor’s of science degree in electrical engineering or an associate of applied science degree in power generation/technology.

The deadline to apply is May 6. For more information and an application visit APA’s website.

Students participate in many fun activities at Youth Rally.

2. Win a free trip to Idaho this summer (High School Students)

GVEA is excited to send a local high school sophomore or junior to Youth Rally Leadership Camp in Caldwell, Idaho this summer. We’re accepting applications now through April 1. If you know any eligible students, please help pass on the information.
