GVEA’s Lobbies Have Reopened

GVEA reopened its lobbies and offices effective Wed, May 27, 2020.

While the Governor has moved from “mandates” to “guidelines,” GVEA is still taking the COVID-19 situation very seriously. Although face coverings are not required to conduct business at GVEA, we are strongly encouraging our employees and visitors to use them, as well as to honor social distancing and good hygiene practices.

  • Fairbanks’ Member Services Building:  The hours of operation for this building is currently 9am to 5pm, Mon-Fri. Walk-ins are welcome; however, the number of individuals granted access will be limited, due to social distancing guidelines.

ACEP Hosting an Online Carbon Reduction Study Workshop

Golden Valley Electric Association (GVEA) has contracted with UAF’s Alaska Center for Energy and Power (ACEP) to assist in developing a plan to meet GVEA’s goal of a 26 percent reduction (measured against GVEA’s 2012 levels) in the rate of carbon dioxide emissions by 2030. The study is due to be completed later this summer, with a report submitted by fall.

The ACEP team will be hosting an online public workshop on Thurs, May 21, beginning at 6:30 pm. The objective is to discuss progress on the project and solicit suggestions/options that GVEA’s members would like to see analyzed as part of the study process.

If  you’re interested in participating in this online workshop, click HERE to view an ACEP flier with all the details.
